94. Winter holidays!

Yo!

I hope you've all been doing great! I am deeply sorry that I haven't posted anything since Valentine's Day, for some reasons. I could go on and on about how school takes all my time, but instead I'll put that energy into writing this blog post! And for me and all the other people in southern Finland (I guess?), this Monday is the first day of the winter holidays, lasting the whole week! I'm so excited on what to do this week, as I'm determined not to let it go to waste!

For those who have already had their holidays, and for those who still wait in excitement for it:

Aukku's winter holidays ended just yesterday when she flew back to England. She spent her whole week here in Finland, during which I saw her twice! On Monday we went to an Italian restaurant in Kamppi and to Robert's Coffee afterwards, and on Friday through Saturday we had a crazy sleepover! Aukku got here a bit late because of getting lost in the strangest parts of Helsinki after her "home" school's Vanhojentanssit (= "the elders' dance", which is like prom in Finland, but not as serious and with synchronised dancing and such - I enjoyed watching my school's dancing mostly because of the girls' wonderful dresses!), but she got here in time in the end, early enough so that we could go to the grocery store to buy snacks for the night.
And it turned out to be quite a laughter-filled trip to the store indeed - first with Aukku's tripping while choosing Moomin lemonade, and lastly with her glorious accident in breaking a plastic bottle (like ?? how is it possible ??)! She laughed so much that it made me giggle super hard as well, and all the people at the store either looked strangely at us or smiled in amusement. We quickly left the store in laughter, and we laughed at it the whole way back home.
The night was filled with OTP feels, music, and our favourite Nitrome game, Bad Ice Cream. Next day we baked brownies with some setbacks during the progress (e.g. when my brother managed to drop the dough bowl, and when we used the microwave to make the chocolate frosting, which mostly tasted like coffee...), but they turned out to be quite good! At least they look delicious, right?

Aukku went home to Helsinki after we ate at PicNic, one of my favourite coffee shops/restaurants. I had a freshly pressed cup of juice, with apples, pears and carrots, at my newest discovery, Café Zino. I didn't realise I should've taken pictures when there, but these were the only pictures taken from the same area, i.e. PicNic:

Strangely my eyes look smaller than usual...

I have great news for you! I try to promote this blog on as many social media platforms as I can, and after such a long time of internal debate, I have introduced Symphonicats on Twitter! You can find the link on the right side of the blog, or you can click here too! ☺

It's been snowing the whole weekend, which makes the scenery outside so very beautiful! I haven't gone out to photograph yet, but instead my camera focused on Little Queen Elsa, who enjoys the loveliness of the world outside from the sauna:

Bimbo is much more eager to watch the quiet world from every window of the house, whether it's from the cold vestibule from where he wants to get out after ten or so seconds, or on my parents' working space. Sometimes he gets distracted and doesn't want to move from the latter, and only accepts petting - no other kind of physical touches such as trying to move him, thank you! ☺

And little Emi has been mostly sleeping in the most hidden but quiet (and maybe even on the top of the list of most comfortable?) places in the house:

"Come to disturb my nap again, hm?"

This wasn't much of a long post, but it's something! I'll update whenever something happens or we go anywhere, but on Sunday or Monday at the latest, because I'm most possibly going to Jyväskylä to see my friend Olivia during the weekend!

I wish to bring you new posts for you to read soon! Have a great winter holiday, all of you!

See you!

93. Lovely kitties on a lovely day: Valentine's Day special!

Hello!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you! ♥

With love in the air and Deadpool up at the cinemas, this is the perfect time to either take the most of the time and do something with your friends or dates, or just to relax at home, with the feeling of satisfaction caused by Valentine's Day. Whatever you do, you'll be warmed by the joy of feeling loved!

In Finland we call Valentine's Day "ystävänpäivä", which translates into "friend day". So don't worry if you are single this Valentine's Day, you can always do something crazy with your friends! That's why I hope all of you have got the perfect Valentine's Day this year! ♥

Happy Valentine's Day from us! ☺
And cats want to share the love too! They may be quite reserved in showing their feelings, but that doesn't mean they love you the less! And like any other domestic animal, they wish to feel loved regardless of appearance or any other thing - just like they love us no matter what!

Here I present you
eight ways to know that your cat feels loved
from the site IHeartCats!

1. Kitty likes to cuddle
If your cat likes to rest next to you, searching for you when you’re cozy on the couch, this is a good indication that they feel loved by you and like being near. I’m sure it makes your heart feel as warm and fuzzy as your cat’s fur rubbing next to you.
2. Your cat purrs loudly for you
Cats all purr to express a variety of emotions, but some do this much more frequently and louder than others. If your cat gets their kitty motor going when they are with you this goes to show they’re feeling the love.
3. Your cat wraps their tail around you
A cat uses their tail in a number of ways to express what they are feeling inside. A cat isn’t going to put their arm around you the way a human would to show affection, so if they wrap their tail around you then they want you to know that they feel loved. Isn’t that precious?
4. Want a lick?
Not all cats like to lick, but some may do this lovingly to show their love. Some cats like to pretend as if they are grooming their owners with their sandpaper tongues. If your cat takes a liking to grooming you then they think of you as family.
5. Can I sleep with you?
When you’re sleeping, if your cat comes to find you to take a joint snooze this lets you know that they love nothing more than sharing in this personal ritual with you. Both you and your cat are incredibly vulnerable while fast asleep and this is a big deal for an animal that is naturally guarded. Hey, at least you’ll save money on expensive cat beds!
6. Meow!
Cats found their voice from the time they were tiny defenseless kittens, and as they grow older they use their voices to speak to you. Your cat may do this to let you know they are happy to see you when their meow is a friendly, chipper sound.
7. Now you see me, now you don’t
Blinking is a big deal to a cat that we humans may not even realize. Although cats may be human like in that it’s rude to stare, if your cat makes a habit of blinking at you then take this as a good sign. When you cat shows affection through blinking, this is also a way for them to show that they trust you. Which to them is earned, not given.
8. Will you scratch me please?
Some cats are more fond of this than others. While some aren’t crazy about being scratched by their owners, other cats aren’t shy about it whatsoever and will pester you into loving on them if they are in the mood for a good scratch. They feel loved by you and enjoy this form of bonding and like when you give them some much needed TLC.
"Will you scratch me please?"

I might not be showing it all the time, but deep inside me lies an oddly tranquil spirit of a fangirl. Like most fangirls I've been shipping mostly fictional characters, but a few real life people fit in there too. And like I said, it's not the hyperventilating, eager or (too much of an) over-emotional type of shipping: it's much more calm than with others, in the shipping part of my brain. Of course, I can get my heart to race and a smile spread on my face when I encounter the smallest hints of a ship, but I try to keep it all in control, just to save myself from too many overwhelming emotions. I do read fanfiction every now and then, when I feel like I need a break, but otherwise, I try to keep the shipping as subtle as possible... nowadays.
That doesn't mean I don't have a list of pairings I support! I have gathered a list from different old files where I have expressed my love for these ships, and here they all are, the pairings I currently ship!

Pairings I support... or all of my OTPs over the years

Dennis Dupree x Lonny Barnett (Rock of Ages)
As both work at The Bourbon Room back in 1987 they developed a spark of romance right when they met. They're simply cute in a very special way. And in the movie adaption, they're portrayed by Alec Baldwin and Russel Brand, and portrayed very well. The best thing is, they're canon!

Molly x FitzChivalry Farseer (The Farseer Trilogy)
The main character Fitz met a girl downtown when he was younger, and his love carries through the whole book of Assassin's Apprentice, the first book of the Farseer Trilogy. Molly's feelings are uncertain while reading, but all my hopes are up for them to live their happily ever after – though Robin Hobb herself has probably radically different things in mind, to keep it a neat fantasy story with plot twists around every corner...

Sherlock Holmes x John Watson (BBC Sherlock)
The first season of the show was like an ice cream with whipped cream and sweet strawberries, when regarding this pairing! I can't even begin to explain how much I love these two, you'll have to see it yourself – with shipper goggles on, of course!

Christian ”Flake” Lorenz x Till Lindemann (Rammstein)
Someone asked once a Tillake shipper why they ship this real-life pairing. The answer was pretty massive, like ”they cuddled in the Ohne Dich live video” and ”Till kissed Flake” which are both completely true. Perhaps that explains why I ship them so hard – they got so much going on, the question is why not ship them?

Bilbo Baggins x Thorin Oakenshield (The Hobbit)
To be honest, in the first movie I saw these two as cold friends who developed brotherly warmth at the end of the film. I never thought about shipping them at all – I was too occupied with Johnlock and other pairings. It wasn't until after the second movie, The Desolation of Smaug, that I saw the movie in a fangirl-shipper's eyes: I saw so many obvious hints of either deep bromance or strong sparks of affection and love, it made the movie almost as beautiful as Brokeback Mountain (yes, you heard me!).

Jon Snow x Ygritte (A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones)
I didn't really like this pairing in the beginning, but their love was so sweet my opinion of them swayed in the opposite direction! In the books they're significantly younger than in the show, but although I haven't read of them, I believe they're just as cute in both adaptions!

Arya Stark x Gendry Waters (A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones)
Though they had not anything more than forced friendship in order to survive at first, I thought they'd make a sweet couple. It's just that Arya is much younger than Gendry, and has been ”my lady”-zoned by the boy. I should probably get reading the books, because I really want to see what happens to them. At least we've got the hopeful writers writing fanfiction based on the little these characters have to offer between them!

Jaina Proudmoore x Thrall Durotan (Warcraft)
They started as enemies who bitterly, a human and an orc, through the prophet Medivh, allied with each other to face the Burning Legion with as much strength as possible. Although Thrall married Aggra, a Mag'har orc, I think this pairing was cute – as long as it lasted. I somehow believe Thrall felt, back in the past, like Jaina was the new Taretha Foxton (who, to those who don't know, helped Thrall escape Durnhold Keep where he was kept as a slave), and therefore warmed up for the human.

Kinelory x Quae (World of Warcraft)
These two quest givers are almost like sisters, but not quite – their love for each other is very deep. Kinelory herself says something like ”you'll never keep me away from Quae!” when entering battle with the orcs in the village they're overlooking. They get a lot of alone time, and we can only wonder what they do on that time...

Illidan Stormrage x Kael'thas Sunstrider (World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade)
Oh I remember these two. I was around 13 when starting to ship them, so they're one of my longest pairings, yes. When I was ill with that time of the month I would take some chocolate and/or coffee to my bed and read Kaeldan fanfiction. Believe me, the fluff in the stories and their bond as allies made me ship them quite a lot, right from the beginning. In the game, all they have is the alliance with each other, that is lost when Kael betraysIllidan. Even though it wasn't nice at all (”nice at all”? What an understatement!) their romance lives on in all those stories written by creative minds who ship them still!

Koltira Deathweaver x Thassarian (World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King)
These two death knights share a deep bond, they're certainly brothers in death. Thassarian was the one to send the player to save Koltira, and although dead, they both kept their (b)romantic feelings alive. I've read a few fanfictions of them when I was younger, and absolutely thought that they loved each other when the living were not an option for them anymore!

Tholo Whitehoof x Anren Shadowseeker (World of Warcraft: Cataclysm)
These two are found in Mount Hyjal, one of the new zones introduced in Cataclysm. Throughout their quests you can experience the ultimate depths of their love, like when you have to save Anren from the Molten Flow, and all he cares about is whether Tholo is all right and safe or not. Plus, all they do before the attack of the elementals in Nordrassil is ”circle around back to back” and telling each other things like ”Together we can do anything” and ”I wish I knew how to quit you!” (YES!).

And last but definitely not least...

Jaenelle Angelline x Daemon SaDiablo (The Black Jewels)
My current and strongest OTP! Jaenelle and Daemon are so meant for each other! Though ms Bishop keeps the plot in the book I've read extremely intriguing and well-written, she hasn't left out any small details on where these two share their lovely moments! Daemon is a bit older than Jaenelle, and throughout the whole book of Daughter of the Blood (which I'm currently rereading, and which gives me the same emotions as when I first read it) I felt like a little happy puddle of goo – they were so adorable! Their love is not right by social terms – like Romeo and Julia had, but with way more darkness. Daemon's love for Jaenelle is strong throughout the book, and luckily, Jaenelle feels the same way, showing it deeply at the end of the first book! ♥
(yes, it's my favourite book series and all I've read is the first book *hides under a rock*)

Yesterday my mother and I went to Jumbo to buy us new gym clothes. It's super important that you feel good while working out, whether it's having your hair in a pretty braid or bun, having your favourite music play, watch your favourite show at the same time, and/or having clothes you feel comfortable and confident in. It helps you with your goal, because your goals should practically to become healthy and at the same time, feel good about yourself if you think you don't already do it enough. I'll make a better post about them some other day as today I'm getting quite tired. So showing my new gym clothes + my workout plans and all that stuff will come some other time!

The sun has been shining beautifully the whole weekend, and Elsa has taken the most of it by posing graciously when I have had the camera close...

She's a supermodel isn't she? ☺

Since it's a day for love and friends, here's a quite newly forged interracial friendship:

Little Emi and Bimbo are celebrating this lovely day with a whole lot of napping! Either with each other or alone, they literally have been sleeping all day, making them fuzzy, cute and warm - which is all just a huge plus! ☺

You might not know this side of Emi, but she is a master in peeing on different objects around the house! It can be laundry fresh from the washer, a pillow, homework papers... You never really know what comes next on her victims list! Since the little princess of mischief has been urinating on two of our couches pillows - again - we have had to wash those two of the covers once again. But Emi is not feeling any guilty, no, she is in her prime of being the crazy little ball of fur she is! She literally has been gliding from one side of the sofa to the other, through horizontally climbing the pillows! It looked so funny, and because I can't really be angry at animals (or anything at all) I took these pictures with a smile spread on my face!

And her best friend Bimbo is being a real best friend by "not witnessing" it happening! ☺

"Not dealing with it"

Since Blogger has had some issues with uploading .mp4 files through the computer (not through YouTube) I tried the new technique of uploading songs at the end of every post! I'm changing into HTML type of editing and pasting embedded YouTube videos through that. Hope it works well!

Have a happy day/evening! Remember that I love you all! ♥

See you!

134. One last change...

Hey everybody! Before you ask: I know. I am just as surprised as you are, that I returned to my ex - Google Blogger. While I would never ...
