124. Peculiar mornings + Christmastime haul! SS

Hi there!

How was your Christmas? I sincerely hope yours was a good one and that you are now content and relaxed! There's still New Year's Eve waiting for celebration, which is today, so shoo the stress and enjoy the last bits of 2016! (As much as you can, really - may the souls of most wonderful Carrie Fisher and beautiful Debbie Reynolds rest in peace. So may the rest of the dead this year, like grandpa, do, too.)

I woke up early one morning this week and failed to get some sleep again, so I went to have some gingerbread cookies for breakfast, and lay down on the sofa with my laptop. All of a sudden I heard some jingling from the area of the living room where the Christmas tree stands. I saw little Bimbo play with one of the ornaments, the gleaming balls, with Emi watching them with huge kitten eyes (the same eyes she had when she was just a baby and everything was new and super exciting)!

I went back to my laptop, did some usual morning checking for Symphonicats, and when I turned back to see if they were still playing with the tree decorations: oh my I just couldn't believe my eyes.

There was no Bimbo on the floor. There was a Bimbo in the tree!

Little Emi let out confused meows and rotated around the tree like a small moon, and Bimbo just kept climbing some branches upward. He stopped to play with the strings of the tree every now and then, sometimes marking the decorations as his property by rubbing his chin on them. He kind of blended in with the low-light of the living room, but you could catch a twinkle of joy in his eyes when seeing him! Mr Bimbo is the cutest!

And I have a strong feeling little Emi does not get her holiday spirit to fade soon: she has found a new people-stalking place from the Christmas decoration box! She just likes to sit there and watch our days roll by... if she's not with Bimbo rolling away her own day through sleep and cuddles! ☺

Another way to see she's just as excited for Christmas as us (be it pre-, during or post-) is that she rolls over wherever there are gifts still wrapped in boxes or hidden in bags! It's kind of like she would say "you missed one, let me show you by being a cutie-pie which one you almost forgot!" ☺

"...now get me food!" Every time our little girl is hungry, she not only walks in front of whatever we're doing and starts meowing, but she also begins to wrestle with her best buddy Bimbo if we're not attentive enough! I always get blurry photos when I try to capture them on pictures, but I guess it adds to the abstract art? We could all use some art every now and then, and if it's about cats, it's even better!

I also captured this picture of Emi, which reminds me so much of the little kitty she was two years ago! Here's a tiny-like-Emi comparison, but heed my warning when I say you might die from an overload of cuteness!

Now, referring to the title, without any further ado let me show you - seven whole days later - what I got for Christmas this year!

I'll go just as with previous years - picture and explanation - but this time with a few photo collages and perhaps a better way of showing my feelings with each present. Enjoy!

What I first want to show you is this beautiful scarf made by my maternal grandpa, who has been for a long time and still is inpatient at a hospital. He probably made this before getting problems with his health, as he barely can sleep in the current room he spends all his days in. But he is getting better and better, and he is on the positive side of recovery, and I can't wait for him to come home so we can share laughs like the wonderful grandpa he is! Until then I will enjoy this scarf, which has a bronze ornament exclusively chosen by my grandmother. ☺

Top: a bag organiser - goes well with any bag. Hello organised life! This silver-taupe-shimmery bag organiser has several pockets, and fits everything between keys and mobile phones to last-minute makeup and calendars (and maybe even a bullet journal?). I think this one goes well with my school bag, I haven't had the time to try it out yet as I avoid school stuff on holidays like the plague...
Middle: a comical coincidence! I actually felt a smile spread on my face when I unwrapped this present. I got the book I had dreamed of, which was very funny because so had Mum, as her present from me was exactly the same book! We both had loved the prequel Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and had wanted to go see it when it came to the cinemas, but unfortunately we never got the chance to do that. Let's see if we, by accident, buy each other the same present again, this time in movie form? Only the falcon knows. ;)
Bottom: a gift as a gift! This piece of paper is so much more than campfire material: it basically says that for three (3) months I will get a box of beauty products, with costs already taken care of! Around the beginning of next month I will get one box of cosmetics, the next ones come in February and March. If I like what I receive, I can continue my subscription! What a lovely surprise! ☺

Here we have something I had been enthusing over for a very long time, when I needed some rock/grunge style in my makeup collection: Maybelline's eyeshadow palette in The Rock Nudes. I already own The Blushed Nudes, but because one of my other eyeshadows practically exploded in my travel makeup bag, it suffered from a lot of problems and now is somewhere on the bottom of my collection, collecting dust, dirty as it is. I wish I could clean it into a whole new customised palette, something as beautiful as its Rock cousin! I can't wait to use this palette, and I have to personally thank Father Christmas and Mum for bringing it home to makeup-mama Pella! ☺

To the left is my super comfy, oversized Mickey Mouse shirt and grey tights. So soft it's unbelievable, almost as soft as little Emi's fur! (There was no dirt on the sleepwear, only on the mirror.)
Top: a wonderful present from gorgeous Ana, all the way from Brazil! A bag that I will take on future vacations where palm trees grow and the grass is as bright as the blue ocean. Brazil itself, maybe? ☺
Middle: a Star Wars notebook from my classmate and great friend Greta! I told her on my last days of school that I'd be going to see Rogue One in the cinemas the day before my surgery, and so she bought this pretty notebook with a Stormtrooper on it! I wasn't allowed to open it until Christmas Eve, so the surprise was multiplied from the curiosity and excitement. It was such a kind act, and the theme was definitely correct!
Bottom: another notebook, this time from my friend in Photoshop class (first computer graphics and now graphic design), Evelina! I have showed her Symphonicats and she was really impressed, so she gave me a notebook to keep up the paperwork with this blog. Another super nice thing from a nice friend!

I am so grateful for all the presents, thank you, friends and family, if you read this! And thank you, my readers, because your interest in this blog is an impeccable gift! And most of it all, I am thankful I'm surrounded by so much kindness and amazing people - that is truly the best Christmas present I could possibly get! So thank you all, honestly! ♥

From my paternal grandmother I got money, and I decided to spend at least some of it on my relatively new full-on love: makeup!

The first find was a new foundation, as my old one had somewhat dried out and become almost unusable. Mum and I had read and heard great things about a super affordable and high-quality makeup brand, NYX, and I was really happy to hear they had it in a shop called Emotion at our nearest shopping centre, Jumbo! So that's where we went the other day, just few days ago, and we found the perfect foundation for me on the first try. Now, as you know, I'm pale as a ghost, so foundation has to be ultra light for it to work, and as I said, we found the right one on the first try! This is the Stay Matte But Not Flat liquid foundation by NYX, in the shade Ivory.

Second purchase was a Full Throttle Lipstick by NYX, in the shade Jolt. I had been wanting an orange-red lipstick ever since last summer, and finally I got my hands on the perfect affordable one!

Now, this is the perfect item for my inner goth: NYX's Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in the shade Alien. It's a pitch black lipstick that I can't wait to use for concerts! Maybe the Ghost concert in April would be perfect? I actually think it would! ☺

I had been wanting a taupe eyeshadow as a friend to my orange lipstick, so Mum and I went to Kicks, a small makeup shop, to search for it. I got my hands on the perfect eyeshadow by Make Up Store, which is not a matte but not a shimmery shadow, something in-between instead. There were actually a few options to choose from, and this was the closest to the one I had imagined the perfect taupe shadow to be. It's also a soft autumn/cool summer colour, for those interested in colour and clothing, but I don't think my patience is strong enough to hold until autumn, as I'd like to wear this for winter already. Perhaps I could mix it with another colour, so it fits my soft summer kind of style? ☺

Elsa: "You're such a good mini-Mummy, buying cosmetics for ME!"

I had been loving my Vaseline Spray Moisturiser last winter so much I got perhaps a little too excited and used it up fairly quickly... Now I have another one in Aloe Soothe, in difference to Essential Healing, my old one. I actually bought it yesterday, so I still have to begin using it, though I'm rather convinced that I won't be disappointed!

Lastly I bought a new mascara yesterday, from the same grocery store where my Vaseline Spray Moisturiser was found. I searched for the best drugstore mascara and through different reviews ended up buying L'oréal Paris's Mega Volume Miss Hippie mascara. I have yet to try it out, but I sincerely wish it was a great purchase - at least according to the internet it was!

Now I have to get ready for the day, as it's the last day of 2016. This year's been full of ups and downs, but even though the many downhills I'll try to focus on the good parts of this year. I met my friend Eliel (formerly Havu), I went to England in the summer, I saw Avantasia, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath and Red Hot Chili Peppers all in the same year... There were so many good things among the darkness, I really wish the older Pella will tell people about the highlights of the year rather than concentrating on the negatives!

Here's a little cuddle for your day! Have a nice morning, day, evening and night, the last of 2016 - I certainly will!

See you next year! ☺

123. Christmas in the Cat House SS

Hi everyone!

So yes, I'm a few minutes late, but anyway,

Merry Christmas! Hope you all have a very merry day! ♥

Yes, in Finland, Christmas is celebrated on Christmas Eve, which is easier for me to do on Symphonicats, too!

It's finally Christmas! I've been waiting to be together with my grandma (since grandpa is in the hospital) around the Christmas table, with all the gifts we get and laughs we share! This day has been a purely amazing one, although a very exhausting one in terms of recovery. In this post I want to share with you the Christmas preparations we've been carrying out through the week, to this very day. I'm going to share with you everything from the point of view of both the humans - and the cats! Hope you enjoy! ☺

Without any further ado, let's have a peek at the life in and around me from the past week!

So I've been in a huge World of Warcraft mood ever since the latest post and a bit beyond, and today I got The Burning Crusade (my faaaavourite!) in working order after struggling weeks with inability to log in. It was just amazing as I had remembered it! I played with my main character, a blood elf paladin who shares my name and hair colour. She's been mostly questin and I got so frustrated when the Forsaken undead wanted me to go to the same places a full load of times! I needed to take her to Undercity afterwards, just so she could cool down from the adventures, even though the smell of the dead got to her nose a number of times... Also, she got her own paladin horse the other day, so life isn't that bad after all, right, me-toon? ☺

We got a new coffeemaker that makes coffee from capsules like the previous red one, because the said red coffee machine broke and became dangerous. Now we have Nespresso which not only makes delicious coffee, but milk foam with it as well! Capsule coffee has never tasted so good!

I've been practically bound to the bed the whole week (except for when my cousin Aurora visited me on Sunday, and another friend came over on Wednesday - thank you both loads!!) so there has been a certain Queen of the house that has taken the opportunity to "bond" (?) with me! Who else is it than the beautiful Elsa? She likes to comfort me while I'm in pain by entering the room and sleeping on my bed! Here in these pictures I captured her sleepy face and bed head from her beauty sleep!

Highlights of being a convalescent is that I have a reason to drink as much hot chocolate as I like! Even if I only take one cup every now and then, it's just as delicious every time I taste it! My hot chocolate routine includes putting cocoa powder with milk and putting it in the microwave for a minute or two. The result? Something just out of this world!

And what goes best with a wonderful warm drink? Cuddly, warm socks! ☺

While reading the book Illidan by William King, I always get the urge to either play The Burning Crusade - or even more, WarCraft III. All I remembered from that strategy game was the excitement, the agitation, the stress when I couldn't get past that one damned mission, relief when I did by using cheats, stress again when another challenge crossed my ways... and what an amazing experience it was to actually sit there and play that super old game. But for me, it never got old. It only got (and keeps getting) gold! So while I can't really bend down or squat or use the stairs, I have to wait until someone finds it. In the meantime, I thought about playing the MMORPG World of Warcraft or The Sims 3. Speaking of The Sims, here's what I got a few weeks back for an absolutely ridiculously low price:

Throughout the week the light has been pleasing the camera, meaning good-quality pictures filled with luminosity have been my neat friend! Here is Queen Elsa on her beauty sleep!

Without further doubts I took my camera a few times outside the Cat Studio/study room (where I sleep) to snap a couple of pictures of little Emi!

The Queen found the perfect hiding/sleeping spot in the house, a place she can be all for herself for some me-time!

One day I thought about why the cats, especially Emi and Bimbo, wrestle all the time. I came to the conclusion, with the help of master Jackson Galaxy's public advice from My Cat From Hell, that they need to play. It sounds funny, but it's true: we've been so busy not many of our 6-member family has had the time to grab a toy and activate their play-hunting nature. Of course when I realised this, and right away when I didn't have low fatigue, I grabbed the stick toy that Bimbo loves and went to play with that sleepy head - he was the nearest available (and one of the dearest, haha)! Mr Tuxedo was asleep but woke up pretty quickly when I got - believe or not! - the strings of the camera near him! But he fully awoke when he saw what I hid behind my back, and boy did he go crazy! You'll see that special joy in these pictures ☺

Around the same time I witnessed little Emi meowing while bird watching - again! Her mew-mew-mew-mew is the cutest, and Elsa, curious as she is, wanted to know what was going on. The sport seemed addicting as she didn't leave after Emi just yet, in fact she was stuck there by the window for the longest time! So cute to see this playful side of her those rare moments. ☺

Today my grandma came over after a full day of Christmas preparations at home. I got great presents which I will share with you the next time I write! Now it's getting late and I got all the kitty stuff out there, so yes, now is the good time to end this blog post.

I hope your Christmas Day tomorrow is a beautiful one! Remember to take care of each other, and stay safe! I love you!

See you again!

122. Comeback of a comrade! SS

Hi y'all!

Today it's Sunday, my second day after my surgery. I woke up around the time my school would start on weekdays (that being 8:30) and thought, why not wake up with some coffee - and Kobain?

As you may know, I play World of Warcraft's (unauthorised) private servers (read: pirate servers) mostly, though I do have the retail game available. I play the private games because
a) it's free & will come in handy considering the student budget in the future,

b) I've played those the most of my WoW life, and
c) I absolutely loved how the world in the game looked before Deathwing the Destroyer (I hate you, DW!)

So today I thought why not go play one of my favourite expansions, Wrath of the Lich King, with my trustworthy Kobain you've heard about in (much, much much) earlier posts? Only this time, Kobain got a catch of Symphonicats and had to put an 's' in the end of her name. It somehow makes her appear more feminine, is it only I who see it? It's hard to tell, as she's always been quite the tomboy. But I believe she likes the little gem in her name (is that an expression? In my world, it is)! Now she roams the lands of Azeroth with a new name and a pumpkin on her head.

Not kidding.

She really has a pumpkin on her head.

Say hello to Kobains!

Truth be told, I haven't been actively playing with her for a longer while, and getting back to business has been one of the great blessings of being a convalescent. Not that being bound to the bed is an amazing thing, no! But I really have enjoyed goofing around with my night elf missy after a great while, and because she's now 38 levels old, I am planning to take her to some new adventures ☺

Here is Kobains on her way to Ironforge! She stopped by Menethil Harbor to greet some old inn-keepers, stand under the dreamy stars and to admire the white, full moon! With a pumpkin on her head, of course.

Whee!

It's the Feast of the Winter Veil in Azeroth, the equivalent of Christmas in our world, and Kobains has a special kind of mixed feelings for this. She doesn't like the commercialism of the season at all, and that's why she understood this grumpy old dwarf, bitter by the loss of historical meaning for the celebration.

(This is exactly what he said. So Kobains did it. Also, I see a cursor that shouldn't be there...)

Kobains likes the gifts, yes, but this is what she had to say to the sponsored-by-no-others-than-the-goblins Greatfather Winter:

Regardless of that, Kobains wanted to try out the machine that looks awfully lot like the one that takes you to the irradiated, lost city of Gnomeregan. And what did she become? A gnome! So here are a few screenshots from when she tried to stand the fact that for the duration of the gnome buff she will be three or four heads shorter than as a night elf...

She also insisted on walking to the throne room to give the king of the dwarves a hearty hello! (Or a formal season's greetings, what you would call it...)

(Again, I apologise for the cursor hand that lay in the way. Curse that cursor!)

Now let's head back home!

Today my cousin came to visit me here at my home. She brought an Innocent smoothie (nobody knows how many homicides the bottle has made, though) in the taste Defense; two different kinds of chocolate both being Fazer's - my ultimate faves! - and a whole mozzarella pizza I'm going to eat next week. We talked and watched silly YouTube videos, like we always do ☺ Afterwards I had no energy to do much, I took a shower which, if I had forgotten about, would be a big no-no for the recovery of the once-inflammated wound! Now I can enjoy the rest of the evening in comfy clothes and cafe au lait

Here is a selfie I took today, I look super sick but at least my hair game is on point as Mum has been very keen on brushing it the last two days. ☺

(Had to resize it, because being the 4'11 I am, the picture was HUGE before...)

Otherwise I am really glad I found my way back to blogging, even if this was kind of a short post. I will try my best to come with a longer, second post as soon as my health gets more stable!

I'll see you all later! And thank you, all my friends, for wishing me luck with both the surgery and the recovery afterwards! I love you so much! ♥

Seeya!

134. One last change...

Hey everybody! Before you ask: I know. I am just as surprised as you are, that I returned to my ex - Google Blogger. While I would never ...
